THE CHANGE WE WANT IN THE WORLD BEGINS IN OUR SCHOOL
We place significant emphasis on the importance of collaboration between school and home as this is vital for the ultimate benefit of our students. We are fortunate to have a school with a strong sense of community and this is in large part thanks to dedication that our parent body who trust in our school and who are committed to our vision for ongoing improvement and community development both within and beyond our school walls.
PTA (PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION)
Our Parent-Teacher Association, composed of Parent (and Teacher) representatives, coordinated by one or more Chairpersons aims to achieve the following three key objectives:
- develop initiatives that to build and maintain community spirit at both a class and whole-school level;
- provide support to new families joining our community;
- collaborate with the school leadership on developing strategies for the resolution of issues pertinent to the majority of the school community.
In order to help achieve these three objectives, the PTA is free to appoint, in agreement with the Principal, special committees for particular events or issues as and when required. The PTA meets with the school leadership team 4/5 times per year to agree on actions that help achieve the above objectives.
Each class has elected a parent representative to act as a single voice for whole class issues with the school’s leadership team.
Our entire school community is committed to service and we are proud of what we have achieved as a within our local and international communities.
As part of our international vision, ISE Group has established partnership projects with schools in other parts of the world. There is no common criterion for becoming a partner except that the two members involved both gain from getting closer together and the global vision of alternative perspectives and worldviews is enhanced in our educational programme. All of the partnerships involve exchanges of people as well as ideas, although some of them are restricted to exchanges between teachers while others are also open to students.
Besides our partners, the ISE Group is linked with thousands of other schools all over the world through membership of professional associations or through our common curriculum – the International Baccalaureate.
