From January the first Johanna steps into the role as Principal of International School of Monza taking over from Iain Sachdev who has led the school with such great success and now is moving to join Inspired’s Education Team as Education Director. We are very grateful for Iain’s excellent leadership for his dedication to the IS Monza community. Of course he will remain close to the school in his new role in the future.

Johanna brings to IS Monza extensive leadership experience from Lomond School in Scotland, where she has been Principal since 2014, and where she has led the highly successful introduction of the IB curriculum. With a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Management and a Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership, Johanna is passionate about Teaching and Learning best practice and the exceptional opportunities afforded by an IB education.

Johanna says: “I am really excited to be joining the IS Monza community as I believe that my educational philosophy and approach aligns perfectly with IS Monza’s values and vision. I am passionate about ensuring we educate and support the whole child, helping each and every young person to develop and grow, both academically and personally, so that they can leave school as confident, successful and internationally minded citizens. I am looking forward to working with staff, parents, students, and the Inspired Education group to ensure IS Monza delivers on this great promise and potential.”

After an extensive handover with Johanna, Iain would like to share the following thanks to the IS Monza community: “It has been an immense honour to be part of IS Monza since joining the team from our sister school in Milan back in 2017. During this time, the school has both grown and developed and I am incredibly proud of the journey we have been on. Together, we have learned a lot, both professionally and personally, especially through and beyond the pandemic, in the fields of assessment, EdTech and inclusion. Our success is a collective one, thanks, above all, to our highly committed, professional, collaborative and big-hearted team. I would like to thank the parents, staff, students and the Board for all their support over the past six years together. It has been a pleasure to lead what I truly believe is the best school in the region and look forward to my future visits to the school as Inspired Education Director.”
